Buying your first home has never been easier!
Between government schemes designed to get you into your first place sooner, there's more support available right now than there has ever been. Here's a quick rundown of what's out there.
Australian Government 5% Deposit Scheme
Buy your first home with just a 5% deposit and skip Lenders Mortgage Insurance entirely. Since the October 2025 expansion, there are no income caps and no waitlists, meaning far more first home buyers can now access it.
First Home Super Saver Scheme (FHSSS)
Use your superannuation to help save your deposit faster. Voluntary contributions you make (up to $50,000) can later be released, along with earnings, to put towards your first home, all inside the concessionally taxed super system.
Help to Buy Scheme
A shared equity scheme where the government contributes up to 30% of an existing home's price (or 40% for a new build) in exchange for an equivalent share. That means a smaller loan, lower repayments, and a deposit as low as 2%.
First Home Owners Grant
A one-off grant for eligible first home buyers, generally for new or substantially renovated homes. Amounts and eligibility vary by state, so we'll help you work out what you're entitled to.
Stamp Duty Concessions & Exemptions
Many states offer reduced or fully waived stamp duty for first home buyers under a certain purchase price. This can mean tens of thousands of dollars back in your pocket, and again, it comes down to your state and property value.
Not sure which of these actually apply to you, or how they stack together? That's exactly what we're here for. Let's chat and map out your best path in.
